Engine from VIN AllGo'n'Show 01-31-2005, 01:53 AM
Hey all I ran a carfax and it shows up as my engine being a.... 2.8L V6 MFI HO OHV now I know what the 2.8l v6 MFI HO part of it is, but what the hell is the OHV part I have never heard of that before? Anyone know? Thanks Xenostalgia 01-31-2005, 05:09 PM Over Head Valve is what it means. Research OHV vs SOHC (Single over head cam) vs DOHC (Dual Over Head Cam) and that will give you a good start on what it is and how it works. sorry I can't give you more info :) Xenostalgia 01-31-2005, 05:10 PM Over Head Valve** ( I am pretty sure) also www.dictionary.com not being sarcastic I use that place ALL THE TIME. :) has an acronym finder. AllGo'n'Show 01-31-2005, 06:12 PM Yah I know what it is now, didn't know it stood for Over head valve before, I thought it was another option, this used to be a cop car so I was all excited :P Related Links Enter the largest automotive community on the planet! |
