Hi people,

My problem is: I bought this car and got the following problem. It is driving Gas LPG (Impco) and so it backfired!!! Changed the sparkplugs (old ones had a to big gap). So no more backfires, but the evil was happend yet. Engine light on with code MAF!! Changed the Maf but no change. The car is running very bad on fuel. And the worse part!! The TCC won't engage (very sometimes it will)!!! Also the Crouse control doesn't work(sometimes it will).
It looks like a vacuum problem but so leaks can be found (by me and a local garage).

What shoult I do?? Is there some body out there who can help me with some information of the Impco Gas installation. There is a selenoid in the bypass gasline with is not electrical connected (wire are cut). Also a small gas line was disconnected (probably due to backfire). I want to be sure I put it back OK!!

Car is further running actualy good. Maybe a little bit loss of power??

Can you help me please?

Thanks so far for all responses!! Tom.

I can't help with the LPG specifics.
However, the TCC and cruise control problems go together: several error codes will prevent both f them to operate:
for example, code 21 or 22 (TPS) will not allow 4th gear, TCC and cruise. I'm not aware MAP problem (code 34) prevent these to operate but it is a possibility too.
SO I do not think you have a vacuum problem with these.
faulty MAP will surely impair fuel management . I you have had back fires, it is possible MAP was damaged by these events.
INversely, faulty MAP and specially faulty TPS will cause backfires when this turns into too lean a mixture with rapid thrrolltle movements.
VIALA (from Paris) participates on this forum and uses LPG. I sent him an e-mail to call him to the rescue.
