Kind of stupid question, but just need to be sure, can you take a 93 escort from park to nutral without even putting the key in the ignition? OR did i mess up? LOL

umm i thought all cars with automatic transmissions needed to have the key in the ignition to move out of park. . .

Sure! Although, a few cars require it of you to have the key in the ignition...a bit of a PITA if you ask me...
