Sticking Gas Pedal jayderwin1 01-26-2005, 02:09 PM
I bought my 97 tacoma last year, and ever since i had it the gas pedal sticks a little bit when you first push it. has anyone else had this problem and maybe know of a way to fix it? i have tried greasing all the parts i would think would make it move easier. but it moves fine as sone as you get it past that first part of the push. :screwy: sportsman1539 01-29-2005, 02:19 PM you need to clean your throttle body out. go to autozone and get a bottle of throttle body cleaner. just take the intake off and open the throttle plate up and spray it in. make sure u have a towel so the black stuff can drip on it. get a tooth brush a scrub the inside of it until you see no more carbon inside of it. wipe it out with a towel and crank your truck up. it will sputter for a few seconds. your gas pedal should be fine then. jayderwin1 01-31-2005, 09:55 AM Thanks Sportsman for the info i will try that this weekend. is that throttle body cleaner expensive? corbinwaterski 01-31-2005, 01:59 PM It's about 3 or 4 clams! jayderwin1 02-02-2005, 12:48 PM I did what you said about the intake manifold and it worked like a charm thanks for the info. But then there are the yearly trips to Lake Powell!! I've got a 2001 Mastercraft Prostar 210V. Enjoy your boat - you can't go wrong with a Mastercraft. jayderwin1 02-04-2005, 08:41 AM yeah your pretty much can't go wrong with the MasterCraft.
