Cd stuck in aftermarket receiver luvinfishin 01-24-2005, 05:06 PM
A cd was working for a little in my cd player but then the cd wasn't being read and the cd player doesn't detect that it is in there. I cannot get the cd to eject when I hit the button. Not sure what to do. There are plastic pieces blocking the entrance so I cannot just pull the cd out. Thanks in advance.. OverBoardProject 01-24-2005, 06:56 PM Are you sure that know one took your cd out of the player. If you take the player out you can take the cover off, and see inside, but the chances are that you'll have to take it into the repair shop. They're just not like the ond tape decks which you could use a screw driver to remove the tapes from movin2stereo 01-24-2005, 08:21 PM Is the cd player factory or aftermarket?I know with aftermarket if you cut the power and then connect the power again they will usually spit the cd out. dmbrisket 51 01-24-2005, 11:19 PM Is the cd player factory or aftermarket?I know with aftermarket if you cut the power and then connect the power again they will usually spit the cd out. thread is taged as "cd stuck in aftermarket receiver" and either way movin2stereo has a point, unplug the wireing harness from the back and reconnect it after a few and see if she spits, as a first though, i would check to see if the cd is still in there by trying to put another one in unless you can see the disk luvinfishin 01-24-2005, 11:36 PM Gimme a little more credit then that...just kidding..uhh.. but the cd is still in there, I can see it, the cd player stopped reading the cd and then stopped working. Ill give your tips a try and get back to you. J/K:lol: dmbrisket 51 01-26-2005, 11:27 AM lol noo dugie youve got it all wrong, wd-40 and a hammer... it also makes a good lube... lol luvinfishin 01-26-2005, 04:33 PM luckly i can cleanly remove the unit without taking my dash off and it still goes back flush. I unplugged the wire harness for a while and then plugged it back in...that took care of it. Thanks again dmbrisket 51 01-26-2005, 05:12 PM did you re-incert a cd and see if what happend was a fluke or if it will happen again? chadm_88 01-26-2005, 07:49 PM I used to have that same problem and i read in my instruction manual a way to reset the player by holding 2 buttons....i dont know if this could work for you, but once it turned on again it came right out. Check the manual if you still have it OverBoardProject 01-26-2005, 09:57 PM luckly i can cleanly remove the unit without taking my dash off and it still goes back flush. Thanks again Just wondering how you can take the radio out without taking the dash out, and still have it fit flush. I sure can't with my radio setup dmbrisket 51 01-26-2005, 11:21 PM you should have two keys, not a key key, but they are metal incerts that go on the sides of the player, with the plastic trim removed, pushe them both in and it comes right out OverBoardProject 01-27-2005, 12:23 AM My mom's old stereo is like that but with my setup the fit kit stops me from ever trying anything like that. It holds the box right in unless I pull the dash off, and fit kit out. Everything is a clean setup, so I won't try modifing anything. mycobra70la 01-27-2005, 02:30 AM Sounds like you have a burned CD in there. Easy just take another CD and slide in a few inches and pull out. This will eject the one that's in there. Related Links Enter the largest automotive community on the planet! |
