1995 LeSabre Climate Control malfunction

Outside temperature about 26F. Car warmed up with remote start. Push the “Auto” button with interior temperature set at 75F and the fan starts on high but goes right down to the lower setting. Set fan speed on higher setting and it comes back to lower setting (1 dot showing) and the "Auto" button light goes out. At this time the digital display only shows outside temp, fan speed and air flow indicators, and it starts to blow light warm/cold air. Push “Vent”, set the fan speed and hot air comes in, however, after driving for 5 or 10 minutes the indicator light on the “Vent” button goes out and it starts to blow cold air. It does the same when I push “Recrc”. To get the car warm inside I have to turn the unit off, wait a few minutes and then push “Vent” or “Recrc” button, reset temp and fan speed… and I have heat for another few minutes.
Question: Does the Climate Control Unit on the dashboard have to be replaced to fix the problem?
Any input on this subject will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I am having problems with my 94 LeSabre climate control; incorrect ext. temp display (shows 10-30 degrees cooler than actually is), heat on drivers side, cold air on passenger (regardless of dual setting), and the ext. temp display blinks on start-up.

Were you able to resolve your problem??

Thanks
