My wifes car is a 97 Dodge Intrepid. The code says EGR valve problems, just where is this valve located on a 3.5L engine?? Any help is appreciated!

Jon

Is that as hard to get to as I "think" it is? This car is a real pain to work on..well at least from what I've had to do so far! Wish I could get ahold of the engineers that crammed all that stuff in such a small space...HA
BTW, where is the fuel filter on this thing? That's due....
THANKS!

I just finished removing the EGR from my 97 trep, yes it was a pain. :banghead:
Go ahead and remove the plastic intake, it will twist and slide out the right side with effort.
The intake tubes are held in place by 2 bolts (13mm socket) on each side of the plenum and attached to the valve below via 2 small bolts (8mm socket).
You'll need a 10mm deep socket, preferably 1/4 drive or 3/8 stubby if you have one to remove the two bolts holding it in place. Check for a gasket when you remove it. If there isn't one you may want to consider a coating of hitemp gasket spray during assembly.
Expect to pay anywhere from $120 to $200 for this little beauty.
