1988 Ford E150 8Cyd. when i'm driving for a period of time i noticed the temp. gauge raising so i pull over and i see the antifreeze leaking out of the hose, the hose where the radaitor cap is that hose. Also when i have the van parked in the drive way and let it warm up antifreeze spits out of the radiator, like a valcano erupded, so i add more water and it continues to spit antifeeze out. i have a new ther. stat installed, can anyone please help, i hope this make sense.

First thing I think of is an overheating condition allowing the coolant to expand, and well, it's got to go somewhere. The hose by your radiator cap is your overflow hose and it's doing it's job if coolants moving through it when it's overheating. I'd check for a water pump being bad and not circulating or a fan clutch not locking up if it were mine. The second thing that comes to mind is kind of rare but it could be combustion gasses getting in your coolant through a head, head gasket or block. It's easy to check for this, just remove the cap and start it cold and if it's the latter of the two, it should jump out in pulse with the affected cylinder's firing.

well i started up the van and took the radiator cap off as it was warming up i see the antifreeze bubbleing up and then it erupted like a valcano and i lost all my antifreeze, i put in water to fill it back up while the engine running and it did it agian, i can't really tell if the antifreeze is flowing because i don't want to put my face by the radiator if the antifreeze is gonna gush out. SO COULD IT POSSIBLY BE THE WATER PUMP CAUSING IT, PLEASE HELP, OR COULD IT BE A FAN CLUCTH WHAT EVER THAT MIGHT BE.
