how to stop a leaky fuel fittingbenw 01-17-2005, 05:06 PM Is there any product on the market that I can apply to a fuel fitting to keep it from leaking? The line is under 60 psi. bill179 01-18-2005, 11:42 AM i put a fuel pump on an 85 305 and the fitting at the fuel pump leaked a little so i wraped the threads with teflon tape and now it doesnt leak, but it only has to hold 8 psi i dont know if it would be able to hold more. a roll of teflon tape is under a dollar and its easy to take off if it doesnt work enginetune 01-25-2005, 01:35 AM Which fitting leaks? What is suppose to seal it? An o-ring type fitting is typical. It is a specific size and type. Any standard 0-ring won't fit right or it won't stand up to fuel pressure. A lot of times, frequent disdurbance will blemish a seal and it looks good still, usually on filters. If it's one that hasn't been disturbed, check for a crack in the line or female part of the fitting. Also make sure it hasn't been cross threaded. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
