need some car audio help plzslickSX 01-17-2005, 04:13 PM well heres my problem: I took out the old aftermarket stereo that was in the car. who ever installed that one did a jimmy rig a$$ job on it. but that's not the problem. when i yanked the stereo out. i noticed 4 plugs to the car harness (1 large white plug, 1 medium white plug, 1 small white plug, and 1 small black plug). when i pulled the old stereo out all the inside lights turned off and my clock doesn't work anymore. and i notice that the automatic seat belts don't move unless the car is on, also the light that tells you that a door is open is on and wont turn off. i have set up the large and medium plugs which connect to the stereo harness and now left with the small white and small black plugs. I think that the reason all the electricals inside don't work is because one or both of those small plugs needs to be plugged in. But i don't know where they go. if someone has a 92 240sx fastback and can help me locate the places where these other two plugs go that would great. thanx slick D-Bo 01-18-2005, 12:49 AM i'd go ask a dealership.. get the wiring map for the seatbelts, clock and audio.. sounds like they really fucked shit up slickSX 01-18-2005, 03:02 AM man tell me about it...i was all pumped about getting ready to fix the car, so i went out and got me an mp3 player. and then to just find out there was more BS to deal with. is that what it is called a "wiring map" and will this show me the locations of all the plugs? i don't want to sound like an idiot on the phone ;-p D-Bo 01-18-2005, 12:20 PM you could call it that.. and don't worry about sounding like an idiot on the phone.. they get some stupid people sometimes.. just explain your problem to them and say you wanna do it yourself but you need to know where all the wires go.. then ask if they have any wiring maps for what i said above.. normally they'll be pretty good with people who are doing shit themselves cause as we all know, cars can get complicated.. some dealerships have all info from every car of every model (the lexus/toyota dealership i worked at had it) on computer and just click away.. see what they say.. if not then i'll get some info for ya slickSX 01-18-2005, 02:09 PM lmao...thanx man. is it me or is customer service not a service at all. i called a local nissan dealership explaining to them my issue. and after being transfered all over the world. i finally got a hold of someone that understood. now I don't have the time to get to this dealership, so i sent my cousin to hunt for what im lookign for at a dealership near her (management experience. lol) IF she can find what im looking for then she will fax it to me. oh can i find that diagram(map) in the user manual? and if you could get that info for me that would be great. my cousin is sorta flaky *EDIT: i wouldnt expect you to go outta your way, but if you have it lying around or something that would be great D-Bo 01-18-2005, 04:48 PM yeah i think it would be in the factory service manual.. if you have no luck then pm me and i'll have it faxed to you slickSX 01-18-2005, 05:19 PM ah thanx a ton. i'll find out tonight if i have it in the manual or if my cousin was able to clutch up for me. i'll let you know tomorrow. thanx again SilviaStud 01-18-2005, 11:41 PM I have the factory service manual on PDF file if you would like it. They have the layouts of every plug and what it goes too. But it sounds more like you may have grounded something out due to the poor wiring done by the last owner. If you would like this file hit me up at silviastud@cox.net. slickSX 01-19-2005, 02:19 AM i just noticed your post right now and realized that duh, you drive the same car i do. lol so that answers my question. if you have no idea what im talking about, you'll understand when you read my email. thanx silviastud and d-bo for your support. its greatly appreciated vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
