engine dies while drivingjolene01 01-16-2005, 07:47 PM i have a 91 grand am and when i am driving down the street the engine shuts off. sometimes it starts back up after about 10 minutes sometimes longer. planedude 01-16-2005, 08:14 PM have u dun a tune up lately? Ridenour 01-16-2005, 08:21 PM Could be your full pump. Worn out fuel pumps are notorious for sputtering and shutting off (thus killing engine) when they get hot. It is not common for someone with a bad fuel pump to start up car fine, drive several miles, and then have the car suddenly quit. My guess would be your fuel pump - have it checked out. CharlotteHawk 01-16-2005, 09:37 PM Yep sounds like a fuel pump. Just went through the same with my GA. Had the tank pulled and replaced the pump. Running smooth now. Tonyr 01-16-2005, 09:39 PM My 2000 did that 6 monhts ago...it was the O2 sensor. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
