God Damn Truck Sucksbusta 01-15-2005, 09:58 PM well tranny went on my truck at 107km now the front wheel bearing hubs are shot and i ONLY have 121km on the gauge, dealer quotes 422.00 a pc. i tell you NEVER,NEVER AGAIN will i buy a chev truck..and in case your wondering it's a 2000 silverado ext-cab shortbox Z-71 LT leather loaded how's 48 grand up the ass new sound when i bought it?? oh has a 5.3 motor too, can you say knock knock? only reason i kept it was she's paid for and i dont have the cake for a new one in case your wondering.....F*&Kin lemons:disappoin ya i know boo-who oh and no i dont race it and no i dont really tow anything wife takes it to work more than anything and we use it to travel nice and easy to the cottage.....ok ok enough for now thanks for listening ill shut it..............later guys emmitt69 01-16-2005, 05:42 AM I feel ya brother, mine hasn't gave me too many problems YET, but I only have 18k on it, don't think I'll be buying a newer chev. anytime again. I had a 93 c1500 and it was the best truck I ever owned tranny went out at 250k but I did dog it a little so I expected it, I only had an Alt. go out and very small things other than that. What they did to screw up the new ones I don't know but I definatly know how ya feel, not too many places to turn for a truck over here anymore, with Dodge's famous tranny prob. and I just don't like Ford, might have to go to somthing like the Titan next time, I know I'm prob. just whinein but who hasn't had somthing unnessisary go wrong with their new Chevy??? Just my 2 pennies. rpg 01-16-2005, 07:32 AM I feel your pain. Nothing worse than spending good money for garbage. I've had my share of that frustration over the years. Mostly with Chrysler cars. Every time I hear, "Oh, they've gotten better", I remember the times being stranded in dowtown Detroit, late at night without my .357 Magnum! Now that situation will seriously get your attention! Love my '96 C1500. 107k, 350, A/T with the Towing package. Other than routine maintenance and a new water pump, this truck has needed virtually nothing. Been using Mobil 1 since broken in and the oil still doesn't move on the stick until I change it at 5k. A buddy of mine has a 2000 also with the 5.3. We drag raced one time. How is it that my paltry 250 horses nailed him off the line and left him three lengths behind after about 4 city blocks when he has nearly what, 300 ponies? Think I'll keep my '96 a little longer. rpg busta 01-16-2005, 11:06 AM yes i agree too i've had the older chev's with great success , one was a 2500 4x4 reg cab i plowed the crap out of it and only went thru one clutch and a fuel pump my other was a 1500 reg cab 4x4 auto with 350 also and that sucker would take ost cars off the line i drove the snott out of that one too with little prob's, so once the 2nd kid came i figured i'll get a new truck ext-cab with 4th door for the simple ease of use, i've had nothing but problems with it since new some guys here have heard me bitch befor but for those who havent here's some of the things -fuel pump toasted around 50k -entire rear end g80 locker toasted-50k -u-joints done -power mirrors done -drivers window done -4x4 switch toast -TRANNY bite's it at 107k 3000 bucks cdn. to rebuilt -that F-ING motor better hold up or ill drive it thru the dealer show room and say the pedal stuck!!!! this is just a few things but far too many for a new truck to have, i agree with emmitt69 i might have to get a titan next, i hear next year nissan's coming out with a DIESEL!!!!! sounds about right up my alley to me,,,,,,,,later guys silveradoman 01-16-2005, 01:15 PM I hear honda is coming out with a new truck too, might be worth to look at... radioralph 01-16-2005, 02:43 PM :nono: I have had excellent service from my 2000 Silverado LT with the 5.3 engine. The truck currently has 104,000 miles, but regardless of what future problems I may have,I promise the readers of this Forum that I will not use the inappropriate words found in post#1 of this thread!! jumpingjack66 01-16-2005, 03:26 PM you'll start cussing soon radio, trust me. If you didn't like swearing next time read the forum title and get a hint of what's inside. :thefinger Greetings Emmitt and Busta, Mark Twain used to have very colorful verbal skills - in fact many considered it entertaining - he was gifted. However - you never saw it in the written word. Why? Real simple - here's what Mark Twain (Samuel Clements) said about swearing: The tongue has an ability to seperate vulgarity to either gutural stupidity, emotional excitement, or whitty statement. But in the visual, vulgar words boldly announce a lack of ability and describe the writer forever as less than advertised. The memory of words lofted to air is but moments in life. But when man takes pen to hand, vulgar statements damn him as witless and unable to support opinion at the level deserving life.
