how to launch

hey people whats up my name is joey and i am a proud owner of a dsm

i just bought my 95 eclipse gst for 7700$ 2 weeks ago and thats how long ive been driving a stick, 2 weeks.

i need some major help on how to launch this fwd car. can someone gimme some tiips or refer me to some good websites? im goin to the track this fri, and im trying to prepare. ive been practicing everyday and still cant get it perfect, any assisstance wud be appreciated my dsm peeps

rev it up to 2500rpm then drop the motherfucking clutch!:licker:

well, some people launch that way, 2500 - 3000 rpms and drop the clutch, but in my experience, ive never gotten a great start on my GST that way, ~ i think the best way..is to rev the engine a lil...put the clutch to the friction point as u give the accelerater a nice rev,,, might burn the clutch a lil if not done properly, but with a lil practice, you'll get nice smooth starts with minimum skid put lots of power

My friend has a 97 GST, and he bought a dual stage electronic boost controller, with a button on the steering wheel. He found he was getting better 60 foot times by burning out of the hole at high boost, and the low boost was pretty much useless. Don't expect to know what you are doing the first time you hit the track. I could give you a two hour lesson on launching, and you would forget every word as you were lining up. There is just too much other stuff to think about. Get the basic track experience, and as that becomes second nature, you can concentrate on your launch.
