mill? or not!95whitehb 01-14-2005, 04:42 PM i think it would be too much to mill the head of a jdm gsr (that has b16A pistons), but i'm not sure... anyone know? Schister66 01-16-2005, 11:25 AM When a machine shop mills the head, they only cut off enough material to make it flat again, then they usually deck the block as well. Did you over heat and warp the block and heads, or are you doing this to increase compression? 95whitehb 01-17-2005, 05:36 PM to increase compression Schister66 01-17-2005, 07:17 PM Tell the guy at the shop that you're planning on using B16A pistons (IDK if those are high compression or recessed or what) but he should know how much he can mill off the block and heads. Are you getting the heads ported and polished or are you buying new ones??? What is your plan in this build-up? 95whitehb 01-18-2005, 01:33 PM probably port polish...b16a pistons are more domed than b18c pistons; increase compression almost a full point.... plan on n/a set-up ........gettin carillo rods, cylinders sleeved, titanium valve retainers & springs n jun 3 cams in future... who knos wht else haha just wondering if its even worth it to have a head guy look at it? with the pistons higher dome... i think even a slight mill could be bad. Schister66 01-18-2005, 08:11 PM That is what i want to do w/ my Civic, but i don't have the time or the money right now. Keep me updated on how it goes. 95whitehb 01-19-2005, 11:44 AM will do :) 95whitehb 01-19-2005, 11:46 AM p.s. i dont exactly have tha ALL money at tha moment either... hopefully i can do all that within a yr. or two! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
