How can I tell if the auto leveling system in my Lesabre is working or not? Am I suppose to hear the pump run when weight is added to the car? Where is the pump located at? Is there a fuse? I have already replaced the air shocks since I thought that they were leaking. Any inout would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The pump is located at the back of the car, I am not exactly sure were. Yes there will be a fuse for it, which could be located in one of the many fuse boxes on the car, but more than likely the one under the rear seat. You would have to listen very closely to hear the pump, if it was loud us Buick owners would complain. The car has to be running for the pump to kick in. I guess you could take a measurement of how high the back of the car is then load up the trunk with the car off, take another measurement then start the car up and see if the car levels out again. On my 200 I can hear the pump when I am standing at the back of the car.

I always hear the air pump on my 02 about thirty seconds after I start it.I guess it runs some sort of "test" cycle after every start. I have noticed that mine runs a little more in cold weather or when I put a heavy load in the trunk but sometimes it will go for days and only run after I start the car. The fuse for the pump is located in the fuse box under the back seat. My pump started out really quiet, but after 100,000 miles its a little noiser now. I can always hear it inside the car. I've even had passengers ask "Whats that noise?".......

Lasota,
Thanks for the input. Since I do not hear the pump running I am guessing that the fuse migth be bad. I will check and get back to you. You are right about the noise the pump makes. I hear that from a lot of Buick owners.

Well, I have about 56K miles on my 2002 Buick. I am sure I will start hearing that "NOISE" whenever I get the pump working again and get to 100K miles. Thanks for the input. I will keep you posted.

It's located by the rear axel on the passenger side of the car. There is a leveling arm that hooks to it. Get several people, at least 300 pounds to sit on the rear bumper or trunk for approx 30 sec with the ignition switch in the run position and you should hear it come on.
