Power door locks open/lock repeatedly at a rate that would make a horny hamster jealous. Removed power lock fuse. Cranks slowly at start-up but starts. Won't always idle/dies when I stop. When running, shows normal battery charge.Problem just started/not intermittent.
Anyone know a source on the net to download wiring diagrams for a 1996 2500 conversion (318) for free?

Problem was resolved when engine detonated at 101,000 miles & was replaced w/ a remanufactured. Funny, though, took it to a Firestone dealer to have a leaking a/c hose replaced and, after waiting for the repair for almost a week (they couldn't find the part anywhere), I located the part, they installed it and told me my alternator was bad! Had run just fine w/ no problems for a month. Told them I'd do the alternator myself (they charged $350 to put on the $50 a/c hose) and said the alternator was $250 + labor. When I went to remove the alternator to have it tested, found the field wire connections (2 nuts on 2 threaded posts on back of alternator) had been loosened!! Alternator tested fine. $400 repair done (by me) free...no parts/no labor. Thanks for the Autozone idea.

Probably not related to this problem, but once, my lights were freaking out on my 96 Ram Van 3500. Turns out the trailer wiring socket was full of sludge, snow and ice - from backing into a snow-bank. Caused a short in the lighting.
