I notice that whenever i start my engine for the first time during the day, the temperature sensor reads pure cold, the pointer doesn't move at all. After running the engine for about 5 minutes, it slowly works its way up between the Cold line and the Hot Line, (generally right on the R in the word "normal" written on the gauge). Compared to the other cars I've driven before, this seems kinda high. I've never reached that high on the temp. sensor before on other cars. Is this normal for a 1993 ford probe se ? Radiotor fluid is good, and i have no leaks...

Is your water pump alright? Is your thermostat opening? If so try replacing the Temp sensor. Alot of people think that a bad temp sensor doesnt hurt any. But in actually your coolant temp sensor and your O2 sensor are called your "master sensors" they tell your ecu how to regulate air, fuel etc.... And with a bad coolant temp sensor your ECU might be trying to compensate for something that doesnt really need to. So try that and see what happens.

i haven't payed much attention but i think my '93 Probe GT runs somewhere between "o" and "r" on normal. If it starts reading some off-the-wall reading like "hot" or if it stays on cold, then i would definitly have it checked out.
