do not use any thing else but regular, if you have V6 (J30). you will lose about 15hp.

if you have I4 (F23) you get better milage with 93 octane gas. see what milage you will get with 87, then compair to 93.

fuel octane is a measurement of the fuel's resistance to preignition. If your car's compression, combustion chamber design, ignition timing, etc allow for 87 octane to be used with no detonation then using say 92 octane will make no diffference.

HOWEVER, most modern cars are set up to run on 92 octance but for the cost conscious they are equipped with a knock sensor which senses the detonation (caused by poor gas, low octane, heavy loads, etc) and retards the ignition timing. This prevents most detonation but reduces power output of the motor. If your car has a knock sensor it'll probably benefit from high octane fuel
