Vacuum operated choke pull-off could be bad, remove air cleaner, start as normal, a cold engine with choke set, and see if choke opens partway when eng. starts.

When you have the aircleaner off to check the choke pull-off, first check the accelerator pump action. You should see a nice shot of raw fuel squirting in the carb the first time and every time the gas is pushed down. If you have to "pump" it a couple of times to get a solid stream, then you have an accelerator pump problem. Then do the check "huey286" recomends, as this is also a good possibility as a problem area. Good luck.
