If you can’t wait until the 2002 Paris Motor Show, here’s a good look at the upcoming Ferrari F60. With already 100 pre-production orders taken by dealers, Ferrari hopes this will outsell their F50. And from other insider reports, Ferrari is so pleased by the car, it may be named for the brand's namesake -- "Enzo," as in Ferrari.

Although the prototype snapped is still disguised, it is obvious that the new F60 will feature a design reminding of those ever so successful Group-C race cars and will also have gull-wing doors. The front of the new car, however, will be designed in the style of a modern F1 car and will therefore mimic one of the design elements of its strongest competitor, the future Mercedes SLR super-sportscar. F1 technology will also be used for the smoothened underbody.

A new mid-mounted, aluminum 6.0-liter V-12 engine likely pushing upward of 650 hp will power the new F60. It is coupled to a sequential six-speed manual gearbox. With a top speed estimated to be just less than 220 mph, sources say the F60 should do 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds. Not bad for a quick $400,000.


I like it! Especially in the Ferrari Red. And looks like the price went down 20% comparing to the F50 :D

That is one fine, fine, superfine piece of car!

But... the front wheels seem too far back.

I really like the canopy, but I'm undecided about the nose.

I agree with Silver S2000, that is one fine supercar, and the wheels are sort of far back. the nose is a little too pointy for me but i think i will still consider it one of the best looking cars ever because it carries the name plate of Ferrari. the dealership Car Classic is already taking orders on the F60 and they have about 7 F50 in stock. i think i'm in love. Its also a great way to pay tribute to Enzo Ferrari.

I have to agree on the nose looking too long and even though i like those rims i dont think they suit it though.

That thing looks like a 360ified F50. Not bad though. If the car was shortened a bit it would kick more ass than I could.

I love Ferrari, and I love the whole F60 concept, but that car is butt ugly.

You'll think this masterpeice is ugly?????You'll really need a pontiac Aztek by so go get one.

In some ways carz is very insiteful....but, in many other ways he is not. I agree that this car needs some work to be beautiful. I prefer the F40 & F50's styling, but remember--this hasn't been released yet, so maybe it will be changed. For all I know this could still be a test-bed, something covered in sheet metal to protect the true shape from spy-shots. Pininfarina knows what he is doing, so I don't suspect I will be disappointed.

When you look closely to the pictures, you see only a prototype. from inside information I know that the chassis will be based on the F360 and that the design will be different from this prototype.

Everybody thinks there will be a rear wing on the car. Wel, I don't
because of the F1 underbody (flexibel) and the complex diffusor.

I think we will see a new version of the Ferrari P4. And hopefully a return to Le Mans with this car.

I would gladly welcome the sight of a Prancing Horse at Le Mans.

from what i know Ferrari was going to use a V10 using F1 technology and not a V12............
so i not sure about that V12 idea........

and i dont think thats the final look either, when they come w. a concept car they put all kinda of crazy shit so you wont even know whats under, that red pic looks like a photoshoped pic, using the plastic covers from the "black" F60...

damn i cant wait to see that monster in a mag, the final product:eek2:
