I have a 1994 Nissan Altima GXE, 2.4L Twin Cam, 5 Speed and I am trying to figure out why it wont start. I have replaced all the normal tune-up parts and I have had it started twice since then, but only with the help of a jump. Also when it was running I noticed a spark arching from the coil to the bolt of the distributor. The distance between the coil and the bolt that the spark is arching between is about an inch or so. I dont know what is causing this but I know that it must have something to do with why it wont run right. Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like you probably have a bad coil, wire or cap.

Thanks for the reply. I solved the problem last night. It turned out to be a faulty set of wires from Auto Zone. They had the lifetime warranty so I took them back and got a new set. The new wires leveled out the misfire and eliminated the arching spark, but now I have a new problem. My car wont start when it is cold outside, but even when it is warm enough fot it to start, it runs for about 10-15 minutes at an idle, and then dies. After it dies, you have to wait for the engine to cool down again berfore it will start again. I am working on a solution but I am gonna start a new thread to get some ideas. Thanks again!
