LiftCaptainOats25 01-10-2005, 06:53 PM I'm lookin to get a 4 inch lift for my 4Runner. Whats the best lift for the money and how much does it cost to install a lift? forest_grump 01-12-2005, 06:09 AM What year???You can get creative under a lift and pull torsion bar out and *reclock* it if splined on some models and gain a few inches if you let lift down while bracing a well placed 4 x 4 board under bolt arm on torsion bar so you can start tightening bolt(be sure to oil liberially and tighten slowly or threads will overheat and seize on you) Don't know what year you have and that and following may and may not work for you....on rear if leaf springs you can make a shackle easy enough to gain a few inches to match front if previous works for you...both ways are cheap and will save you from futher major mods due to suspension/steering binding....goodluck forest_grump 01-12-2005, 06:11 AM P.S. Most SUV's are top heavy and if you raise it up higher it gets worse so be careful what you wish for and know the pluses and minuses if just wanting a *kewl* look and go mild and forget wild.
