93 Nissan Altima Automatic TransmissionEARL30 01-08-2005, 10:24 AM HAVE A 93 ALTIMA THAT WHEN THE OUTSIDE TEMP IS BELOW 30 THE HEAD-UP DISPLAY WILL NOT COME ON IF YOU TRY TO DRIVE THE SPEEDDOMETTER WILL NOT WORK AND THE TRANSMISSION WILL STAY IN LOW GEAR. IF YOU LET THE CAR SIT AND WARM UP FOR 1/2 HOUR AT LEAST THE SPEEDDOMETTER WILL START TO SHAKE AND STOP ABOUT 2 MIN IT WILL SHAKE AGAIN AND THE HEAD-UP DISPLAY WILL POP ON THEN THE CAR WILL RUN FINE. I HAVE PUT IN A NEW VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR BUT CAR IS STILL THE SAME. ANYBODY KNOW WHAT I CAN TRY THANKS LIONEL MY E-MAIL IS DWARFCAR30@YAHOO.COM sdrakeford1 01-11-2005, 03:44 PM Not sure, but can you tell me exactly what a speed sensor does? Please read my message. I am listed as sdrakeford1. Maybe you can assist me. Thanks! EARL30 01-11-2005, 05:49 PM the VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR is a gear in the transmission with a eletric plug that turns and tells the SPEEDDOMETTER how fast you are going IH8SPM 01-12-2005, 09:13 AM Check your battery terminals and battery for low voltage/loose grounds. Your car also may have bad lock up sensor in the tranny. I would stick with voltage issues first. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
