93 Lesabre transmission hesitation

Hi Y'all, - 93 Buick LeSabre Limited 3.8 with 135,000 highway miles
On cool mornings (< 50F) when I put the car in reverse the transmission does not engage. If I place it in drive it does not engage. However when I place it in 1st there is a definite engagment and then when I go back to reverse or drive all is well. Onced warmed up all is fine. Fluid levels are all OK and I replaced the filter and fluid about 3 months ago. Your thoughts?

i have the same problem and was told it had to do with the overdrive in the transmission.

I have the same problem with a 94 buick lesabre limited must be a problem to many
