93 Lumina SHITTY GAS MILEAGE lustofdecay 01-06-2005, 07:18 PM
I have a 93 lumina with a little over 100k miles on it. i calculated my gas mileage and came up with a drastic figure of 8 miles to a gallon. my car is dumping fuel really bad, and i have alot of problems starting it. when its cold, it starts fine. after the car warms up and I shut it off, come 5 minutes later when I try to start it again, there is a really long crank, and then it will die. it'll take about 5 or 6 more tries til i finally get it started and running. then, all i smell is gas. i dont have any idling problems (idles at 750 rpm), it runs perfect after I actually get it started, my transmission has no problems, and my fuel pressure regulator is reading 38 Psi which is relatively normal for GM cars. i know for a fact that my Oxygen sensor is bad, so I will replace that. any ideas what might be the real problem? i had a couple tech's at my work look at it, and they could only come up with a few possible problems, but didnt have a diagnostic computer to be sure. i know its not my actual fuel injectors because like I said, the car runs fine once it is started.
