Can anyone tell me what a Carbon Canister and vent solenoid are. I have been told I need to replace these as the check engine light is on and diagnostics say these parts bad. Are they hard to change? What and where are they on the engine?

Ignore everything that diagnostic tool says about the carbon canister. It's working fine, and will for more years to come. As for the vent solenoid, its probably working, but ya never know, it might have bit the bullet.

All in all, just ignore it, its only for emissions anyways.

carbon canister hold the gas fumes from the tank and what the vent solenoid does is it opens up when you are cruising to burn off the excess fumes, u can also kill the canister because of overfilling the gas tank , trying to top it off, most likely u just ned the solenoid, the canister shouldnt be shot.
