I have just finish rebuilding the transmission. I install the transmission in the monte carlo and are now testing it. When put into reverse the car goes forwards, so i check the reverse servo to see if it was binding. servo was moving freely but i notice there was no fluid present in the piston. Also neutral is in drive. I'm puzzle, need some experts to help me correct this problem.

My first question to you would be; did you follow a manual for rebuilding that transmission? If not, there's your problem.

There are always little technicalities when doing something as complex as an automatic transmission. When you took the tranny out of your car, did you have it in park? If when you took it apart, it was in another gear, things would have messed up (I've seen it happen).

I don't know what's wrong, but I would suggest rebuilding it from scratch following the manual; word for word.

I rebuild the transmission by the manual. Followed it to the letter. It was in park when i took out the transmission. I thought maybe the reverse servo was stuck, so I remove the reverse servo and found that it was not getting any fluids. Could it be possible i put in the wrong gasket for the valve body because the rebuild kit came with two sets?
