The AC compressor on my 01 wont turn when the AC button on the dash is pressed and the fan is on. The green light on the button lights. The vehicle previously had ice cold air so I'm thinking it's a relay or solenooid. All fuses are good. Where is the location of the AC compressor relay or solenoid on the vehicle so I can check it?
The belts are all good and I don't think it's the clutch itself.
Thanks, all replies or suggestions appreciated

Most have a low-pressure switch that won't allow a/c compressor clutch to engage when you are low on freon and sometimes will go bad....check that out first.........You do have fan (blower fan inside cab)on at same time right????? If inside blower fan is not on...it will not engage a/c clutch.Sorry gotta ask which fan lol...Might check for a/c relay in a relay box in engine compartment and listen to it for a click when someone hits on/off button inside with key and fan on) and if so check for voltage to a/c clutch on compressor...goodluck

Thanks, yes the AC fan is on and the selector is on the front vents. Although the comp wont kick on regardless of the selector switch position. I'm pretty sure my freon level is good.
Where is the LP switch located? And I don't see a solenoid or relay in the under hood fuse box.

I forgot to mention....Down here in New Orleans, you notice it when the AC doesn't work in January!
