I install the cluster Thursday!


I just got this today. SiR II with rare traction control light. I have to change the "glass" with mine, since it is imperfect. There are these annoying beads of superglue holding the glass on. Anybody got that off before?

nice si man..kinda wish i looked around for an si, but when i seen the DX coupe at a car lot i couldnt wait...I had to get my hands on a honda

Even by putting the Si emblem on there, it's still not an Si :D
Was it an EX or DX when it was stock? Just curious.
And just so you know, you're going to blow your engine if you keep reving it that high. And you won't make any more power by reving it higher than the stock rev limiter.

I have a question. I have the same engine as yours, the D16Z6 and it doesnt say VTEC on it. Would it be because yours is newer or something?

Just noticed, your airbox is missing?! Now can someone tell me this, isn't it bad for the engine because ther is no filter there at all to keep all the bad shite from going in through the intake tube? Yeah, and only the Hatchbacks can be True SI. So it's just an EX VTEC. Still practically the same. Late...

I think the 92-93 D16Z6 doesn't say VTEC
The 94-95 D16Z6 do say VTEC
No 96-00 D16Y8 say VTEC

Also, this car has seen as much as 9000, and regularly sees the RPM's I showed you(8700). Has been that way since June, lasted so far.

i have a 95' z6 and my valve cover doesn't say vtec. the little circle on the left side of the head reads 9|5. maybe the previous owner just switched valve covers for whatever reason.

i've seen afew coupes around town that have the si sticker..driven by old people..people i dont think that would go buy an si sticker..and the black coupes used in the movie (i dont have to say its name, you all know) are known as civic si's..i got alittle toy of it, and thats what it said on the box..could be due to a swap but im not sure. i just dont understand why they would make hatchback si's and not coupe si's,,but still have the si sticker

They don't have an Si coupe in the US, and that's where he's from (according to his profile). I checked it before I responded to make sure he wasn't from Canada, where I believe they do have the Si coupes in the 5th gen. But still the other reference, F&F... it's a movie. You should believe absolutely nothing in those movies, every last word of them is :bs:

you chose just like me, when i went out to choose my car, as soon as i saw the civic i have now, i chose it, i just had to take it, i didnt know about hondas back then so i didnt realize that an ex would have been a better choice, but yeah, as soon i saw it, i just picked it. Although, my DX does weigh less.

Very cool, no filter on the air intake. Hope you don't suck a bird up in there while redline'n it. Looks like you had an oil leak / mud fly up into the engine compartment, that can't be good for the valves, via entrance through the wide-open air intake. Can mud be compressed?

because the made Si coupes in '99-'00. But he has a '92-'95, and in the US there wasn't a Si coupe made in those years.

love how ur over reving the engine in neutral or with the clutch in. :screwy: and i dont find the point in putting an ecu from a completely different car without tunning just so u can over rev it and im guessing ur just trying to blow this engine bc u have and extra one or the money for a new one just laying around but w/e its ur car u do w/e u want with it. other than that nice car.
