Do the Prizm and Corolla share a transmission like the do an engine? If so, does anyone know what kind of transmission it is? It doesn't seem to be a GM tranny cause those go out pretty fast...sooner than 10 years!

Prisim and corolla have the same trannys. Good this is that junk yards sell the geo trannys for 50% the price of the toyota tranny. !! Same tranny... just make sure you get the correct tranny (1.8 or 1.6) I believe the prisims only came with the 1.8L though..

Well my Prizm is a 1.6L manual. I do not need a transmission, but I was just wondering if it came with a decent one. Thanks.

The corolla and the prizms were built in the same assembly plant. I know this coz I work there. The all share the same parts.
