civic alernator problemcarcraze 01-05-2005, 05:21 PM i have a 1994 civic hatchback and installed a system by myself a few weeks ago. i connected the remote wire from the amp to the 12v constant wire from the car which drained out my battery every once and a while. However, i removed the system and now i have to boost the car to start it everytime. I think that i need a new alternator, but i could be wrong. Can someone please tell me wut else can be wrong with my car...thnx :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead: :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead: :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead: :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead: acoustic-sounds 01-14-2005, 12:50 PM Does your alternator light come on (its the read light that comes on when the car is on the last position befor you start the car) it a symbol of the battery. If it goes out when the engine is started then you alternator is fine. If this checks out good did you replace the battery and how old is it. Let me know and I can try to help you out. snowman2005 01-15-2005, 01:05 AM get ur battery tested first. idk if autozone or pep-boys does it fro free or not? civicnation425 01-15-2005, 01:36 AM i am pretty sure shucks does it for free... or krager or whatever it is called in your area. Its called shucks up here in the NW. bingisSD 01-15-2005, 01:45 AM most likely its the battery not holding a charge, any auto parts place has a tester they will clip on. there is a reason that youre amp has a remote wire, SO IT ONLY TURNS ON WHEN YOUR CD PLAYER TELLS IT TO. thats why it has that wire in the first place. which could make a cell in your battery go bad, yes. next time you put an amp in make sure you do it right. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
