i have a 1998 oldsmobile 88 LS. i talked to a employee at a rim shop and he told my car can fit 22 inch rims wit low profile tires without any lifting, cutting or air bagging. i wanted to know if i wanted to lift my car about an inch or 2 what would i do. would changing my shocks do the trick. help me out please thanks.

to lift a FWD car like yours, you'd need to install blocks under the springs.

ya, wood blocks are the best to use. They are adjustable too, just start out with a piece that is 4" tall and saw them down to the disired height.

They'll look just as good as those 22" wheels on your lifted car.

whaaaaaat, wood blocks. i never heard of that. ive been on the web i found the blocks, then proceeded to call a couple of stores in my area. alot of the places i thought would have them like firestone, good year, didnt pep boys did though. can u elaborate on the wood blocks. whats the pros and cons when comparing them to the reg. blocks.

pressure treated is the way to go. It lasts MUCH longer than just plain wood.

are you supposed to remove the springs before inserting the wood blocks? I was told to put blocks in before, but hell if Im gonna try to take my own springs out.
