Headlights on in daytime

Just noticed that my headlights on my 99 Venture are on in daytime. I assume the little light sensor on the front dash is bad. Has anyone replaced this sensor? Is it a difficult job?

I would check to see if there is some dirt or other object stuck over the sensor first (I always go for the "easy" fix). Or if the sensor has fallen down into the dash - that could do it to.

Good luck,

Greg A.

I used a Q-Tip and some Windex and problem solved! (Pulled out a nice sized piece of dashboard "belly-button" lint that was blocking the sensor). Thanks for your help Greg.

Don't you just love it when it is a "simple fix"?

Take care,

Hi, Could you please tell me where to find this sensor? I just bought a used 99 Chevy Venture and I noticed my headlights on during the day. Thanks.

Edit: Welcome to the forum!

Sensor is in the middle of the dash, near the windshield.

Look for two small holes about the size of a pencil. It is under one of those (not sure which one).

Thanks for the reply, I found them, one seems to be empty (hope it hasn't fallen in the dash) and I cleaned the other one but won't know till daylight tomorrow as it's night time here at the moment.
Thans again, sure appreciate the reply
