Hesitation under load

Hi,
My 2000 would shudder a little at around 50mph under load after it shifted into 4th gear with the torque converter locked up. I would lightly tape the brake with my left foot and as the converter unlocked the shudder would go away. We put a scan tool on it and it indicated a misfire on cylinder #6. Check the spark plug wire on the coil pack for cylinder 6 and it looked okay. As I was messing with the car at night I stood in front of the always burning headlight and could see spark arching between the 3 and 6 terminals on the 3/6 coil. I pulled the spark plug wire off of the coil for cylinder #3 and the spark plug wire was loose and corroded. I pulled off the coil and cleaned up the terminal for the #3 wire and put it back on.
Replaced the plug wires and the problem is solved.
This vehicle only has 40k miles on it. Oh well.

:2cents: I also had the exact same problem with my 2001 Limited with 90k. I replaced that module as well (3/6) along with all plugs and wires.
At 104k I smelled anti-freeze and had to replace the upper plenum which cost $149 at Murrays and took about 4-6 careful hrs. I did not rush at all, and also cleaned the very dirty injectors and throttle body. Car starts better and runs stronger than ever. Firestone wanted about $600 for the job. There are some good threads on this on this site. Good job.

How did you clean the throttle body?
