vacuum troubletackettm 12-30-2004, 06:41 PM I have a 88 Ram 50. When I bought the truck the owner told me she had put a new carburator on the truck but it wouldn't crank, (bad fuel pump). I replaced the fuel pump and the truck cranks and runs fair. It occasionally tries to backfire and has no accleration. I can't make any adjustments to the carburator fuel mixture, (turn it all the way in or all the way out and it makes no difference). Did a complete tuneup and no improvement. I think she may have connected the vacuum lines wrong. Service manuel and dealer only show minimal vacuum routing. Any help on the vacuum line routing. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
