I think the bolt that is holding my heater core in has something to do with the blower motor resistor??? where can I find the blower motor resistor? do I have to cut out the access panel for the blower motor?

Under the hood, on the passenger side is the box that houses the evaporator core. You'll see two metal lines going into it. On top of that box, you'll see an electrical connector sticking straight down. That is the blower motor resistor. In GM's wisdom they have decided that it never goes bad and that you will never have to remove it, so they encased the entire box in a rubber cover. After you unplug the resistor, you will have to cut along the four lines that outline it. There might be a stud on the firewall just above the resistor that will also have to be removed. After you remove the resistor cover, then there are only three screws that hold the resistor in place. After the resistor is removed, look straight down, you will see a ten mm bolt about six inches down. I wouldn't worry too much about putting that bolt back and the cover just lays on top, the connector will hold it in place. It's just for looks anyway. Good luck.
