I just found out from the dealer that my recently purchaced 1998 5.9L with 40,000 miles needs a new Catalytic converter and new exhaust system because the aftermarket converter on there now is sized to small so the exhaust is ruined as a result due to excessive welds and crimping. The dealer gave me a parts estimate of $1,100 for the converter and exhaust replacement + brackets. I'm trying to find aftermarket replacement parts to save some money, and don't want to go overboard with a dual exhaust. Please help me find a reliable place to get these parts, where I know they will be the right size and everything.

If you are going to do the work yourself there are quite a few places. Sumitt, Jegs, E-BAY, Rock Auto. If your going to have someone else do it then you probally will have to go to a Muffler shop.Still should be able to beat the price some..Its not that difficult of a Job just dirty!

Thanks for the reply, what I decided to do was buy a Gibson cat back exhaust and a 2.5" cat. converter online for about $525 with overnight shipping. The jeep dealer said they would install my new exhaust system for $150. Now I'm thinking that I need to upgrade to a K&N intake to match my new exhaust....
