ok...

after replaceing the block on my 1998 tahoe....hooked everything back up.....i hooked up the power to the battery and the starter is staying engaged....making a wining sound..(evenwithout the key being turned)...
i thought it might have been wired backwords....but that does not seem to be the case..

i disconcted the power to the satrter and kept the power to the cylanoid and turned the key and it is engaging like it is supposed too...
but every time i connect to power to the starter is has direct power somehow and stays on....

is my starter bad...or could it be sumthing else...please help.....THANKS

i had the same problem on a 94 ford ranger....the shaft inside the starter bent and it would stay engaged when power was hooked to it......replace your starter and it should fix it
