2000 Z24 ignition housing reinstall
chuckeieio 12-29-2004, 04:26 PM recently took off the ignition housing and can't seem to get it back on and have 4 cylinders fireing. So obviously one of them is not contacting the plug. It's so darn hard to see in there and tell if all the coil tips are in the boots properly. I leave the boots on the plugs and try to push the coil and housing down to fit into the boots.I bought the haynes repair manual which seems to omit the replacement of this part. Has anyone else had this problem and found an easier way. Am i even doing it the right way. Any advice would be a big help. rallyaddict 01-02-2005, 11:11 AM I've done this several times. I leave the boots on the housing, not the plugs. It has snapped on every time without fail. You may also want to check inside each boot to ensure the spring is still inside as well. chuckeieio 01-02-2005, 12:16 PM thanks a lot. let it sit for days as it's been raining a lot. finally got to it today. your method worked like a charm! i guess the reason i tried doing it with the boots on the plugs was that when i took it off, they stayed on the plugs. i figured that's the way it would go back together. Guess not. Thanks again. AutomotiveHelper.com, Copyright ©2013
