My son’s 2001 Monte Carlo dash board lights go out every now and then. We have not had a chance to check them out. We’ll check fuses first but if they come on and go out, sounds like a bad ground or dirty connection somewhere. Has any one else had this problem?

My question was getting buried. Has any one else had this problem?
We checked the fuses. He said the lights came on for awhile yesterday. Has anyone had problems with water or condensation on wire terminals or corroded terminals? Also: where is the BCM located? Thanks

i have the same problem, i figured the switch was going bad so i looked.
the incoming power lead and the corner of the switch are melted. its i reworked the switch and it seems to be working now, but the dash lights still are so dim that can't see them. but work fine when in full daylight sun and in lights off mode, so it seems like something in the adjustment circuit still Fubar. Anyone else have this issue, the dealer just wants to start changing things, Stupid switch is $150!

Not sure of the cause, but there is a string of problems with dash lights and gauges on the new MC's. You can track the problems on several forums. Also on other mid-size Chevy's
