Starter 96?

what the best way to get to the starter on a 96? thank you.

ive never had to change mine...well at least not while the engine/trans is still in the car. But i would guess just take off the whole intake system which would free up quite a bit of space and get it to it from there.

Nipz, I've got a '95 that may need a starter replacement. Did you get yours off, and how hard was it? Any advice would be appreciated. Mine '95 is a 2.5L V6. Thanks.

mine was off a 96 2.0 4cyc. but it was a punk to get to. when you do it if it like mine every thing happens from under the car. you need to jack it up high. just take you time.

mine was at 11'o clock if you look at teh trany from the passager side.

Nipz, I've been told that the starter is on top of the tranny, just under the airl inlet hose and filter box. Is that correct? I have a V6, so maybe is different than a 4 cyl, but it seems this would all be repaired from the top, not the bottom. Appreciate your reply here.
