I have a friend who is going through some hard times. So I'll be picking up the maintenance on the '96 Plymouth Voyager. It has a 3.0L V6 - I think this is a Mitsu engine? Under 100K miles, but I'm not sure what the exact mileage is on the vehicle.

So - what do I need to know?

Currently there seems to be a weeping oil leak from the front valve cover gasket.

Thanks for your help, folks!

Most generally the engine will take care of itself if you just do routine maintenance. I would make sure the oil is new, the plugs and wires are in good shape and that the timing belt has been changed recently. The 3.0 has a belt and if not changed should it break could cause you a lot of problems. I would change the front valve cover gasket as it may leak more after a period of time. Cost for all of this is minimal and should be easy to do yourself.
