will a ceramic header really give me up to 15 extra horsepower94cordvtec 12-25-2004, 09:28 PM i have a 94 accord ex, got a cold air intake with re-works filter, and new piping from the catalytic converter back to the muffler and a meineke performance muffler, i have a hi-flow cat converter on the way and i want a header i'd like a stainless steel but i'm short on cash but can afford a ceramic header, it claims 15 extra horses but will it really give me that much and will i be able to notice any difference besides a louder exhaust and extra stop for gas each week? superbluecivicsi 12-29-2004, 06:35 AM any header giving you 15hp............no! gas mileage will have no noticable change. hi flo cat with just IHE = just polluting the air. If you want more power, think bigger. CBURKE 01-03-2005, 12:23 PM when i put on my dc headers i really only notice a dif at hight RPM. You will get a little bit more HP but no way in hell 15........ maybe 3 or 4 at the most. They do test's on the header and the car that has the most HP gain will be the one they use, that's y thay say upto 15HP. DirtyD777 01-04-2005, 02:44 AM I have a dc sports 4-2-1 header and I noticed no dif. other than more noise..my buddy has a knock off brand ebay header on his civic ex and he claims he feels a extra kick at high rpms but I say he's full of shit. It really makes the engine bay look nicer though :) 95cord 01-04-2005, 02:53 PM 3-4 hp at 6000rpm import tuner mag 97 civic dx gaines 3-4 hp at 6000rpm dyno tested with dc sport headers 4-2-1 musclecarer 01-07-2005, 03:38 AM that might be for rice burners but my edlebrock headers gave me 25 hp on the dino 95dxcivic 01-10-2005, 12:32 AM they might claim a 15 hp incra=ease because you dont know what kind of engine they put it on, if it was a worked up n/a engine with everything on(intake, high comp, aggresive cams, etc.) then the difference between a stock exhaust mani and an aftermarket one can be a big difference, but on a stock engine, you wont see more than 10. 95dxcivic 01-10-2005, 12:42 AM my buddy has a knock off brand ebay header on his civic ex and he claims he feels a extra kick at high rpms but I say he's full of shit. if your buddies is a 92-95 ex, then the kick at high rpm's might be vtec. BboyOxygen 01-11-2005, 06:41 PM I hate D/C headers. They are made for someone with just I/H/E. I bought a JDM ITR Header and my gains were incredible. I'm supercharged so it made quite a difference. The outlet on the D/C is 2.25" and the JDM ITR is 2.5". If you are planning on highly modifing your car then wait and buy a good header or a good turbo manifold. Dont waste your money on a d/c POS. superbluecivicsi 01-11-2005, 11:13 PM I hate D/C headers. They are made for someone with just I/H/E. I bought a JDM ITR Header and my gains were incredible. DCs are one of the best header you can get for $250 new as a replacement for the OEM header. Comparing the DC 2.5 vs the DC 2.25 is not a fair comparison. Try comparing it against the Kamikaze if your SCed. Though the kamikaze's craftsmanship isnt as good as the DC 2.5, its application on an SCed setup rivals the DC 2.5. not to mention it cost less. What I'm saying though is if you plan on doing more to your car later, buying the DC 2.25" Header is pointless. I saw almost no gains with mine and I HAD to replace it when I went SC.
