OK My Turn With A Problem..........

Everytime I start my 1994 JGC , V-8, with my remote starter from the house lately....When I go out to get in the warmed up Jeep I smell outside and seems also inside the strong odor of fuel. I have claimbed all over the Jeep looking for a leak and also under on the ground but none found. The odor is strong after starting. I have tried it while watching the start up with the remote and all starts fine. No excessive starting with the unit either.
If I start the Jeep with the key it does not smell????? Its driving me nuts.....I just do not wait to go outside one day and see the Jeep in flames.....I am a Firefighter but I would rather put out someone else's Jeep fire and not mine...LOL. It has started doing this problem for about a month now and the remote starter has been installed over a year ago. I am at a loss trying to figure this out. I just thought that a fresh mind would help out.........OH YEA!!!!! Happy Holidays to everybody.

I will be waiting for all your replys........

Hi Gary,

Prob has no merit but something to think about....when you remote start, the vehicle is sitting still under cold start overly rich conditions. You enter the vehicle and smell the rich fuel. With Key start you probably take off down the road quicker (not letting sit at idle very long). Therefore not noticing the fuel smell? Just a guess. Merry CHRISTmas! Chad

If there is a Fuel leak it would do it under both remote and key starts. Check the Gas Cap first and fuel lines plus filter next. Check under the hood around the throttle body and Injectors with the remote while holding the hood pin down. Could be like the previous post stated about not smelling it using the Key.
