You may get lucky & find one that works. Most do not. G/luck Joel yetiman 12-23-2004, 06:27 PM thanks...guess i'll have to yank it and have it tested rodeo02 12-23-2004, 07:29 PM thanks...guess i'll have to yank it and have it tested I hope you're talking about your alternator! :lol2: :uhoh: (sorry man.. couldn't resist) From what I've read/seen, bench testing is not all that accurate. Best bet is try to find a new/oem alternator. You need to see ~14VDC across the battery with the truck running (with a quality volt/multi meter). G/luck Joel yetiman 12-24-2004, 10:30 AM thanks Ramblin Fever 12-24-2004, 11:56 AM Been down this same road, just this past summer - in the end, I ended up with a BOSCH alternator. Works great! FWIW - these trucks don't care for the whimpy Everstart batteries from Walmart either, i.e. 600 CCA. Although that's what the book recommends; had to change that out too, after only 3 months. Now have the Interstate 750 CCA and BOSCH alternator - truck loves this combo! yetiman 12-25-2004, 03:27 PM Been down this same road, just this past summer - in the end, I ended up with a BOSCH alternator.
