( warning ..long )

I was so hyped today. I was getting my suspension for my p10 installed today. I ordered Eibach spring 1.3 " and KYB adjustables. Form reading the forums here and SE-R.net it was he best combo I could afford for my p10.

I get to the place. The guy behind the counter says " there is your stuff " I see a KYB box and an INTRAX box !!!! I was like " WTF is this I ordered Eibach !! " He said that his supplier did not have them for my car and that the Intrax were better because they were lower. I told him I heard that I would be bouncing all over the pce and he said it was not rue just I firmer ride. I was disgusted and left if for no other reason than he did not call and tell me about the switcheroo !!!!!

He just called me to come in tomorrow and talk. Was I wrong to have a fit like that ? Aren't eibachs better ?

I know this was long but you guys help is appreciated......

I dont blame you for being pissed off....you didn't get what you asked for and he never told you.

As for the Eibach's, i have them fitted to mine (p11) and i have found them to be just fine.
The ride is a more firm, but it handles in corners a lot better.

Some of the other guys may be able to help out more if they have used different ones, as i have only had Eibach's so that's all i can go on.

what?!?!? fuck that...so if you went to micky-d's and ordered a cheeseburger and they gave you a filet-o-fish you'd be happy with it...take that shit back man, i'm not dissing intrax or anything... it's just the principal of it...

people just need to get their shit right, if they can't do it, than don't deal with them, theirs plenty of other reputable comanies out there that will get it right...

warning: the intrax springs (1.75" drop) may void any type of warranty you may have on your kyb agx's, because kyb only warrants up to a 1.5" drop...nothing lower.

Do not if in Miami call a place called Blitz !!! They really tries to screw me. I called Discount tire and they have the wheels ( MAS) I want and they have in STOCK !!! This place told me that they have a special acoount and could them cheap for me then told me they were not available for my G.

Not only does Discount have them... they have them available and can have them shipped with the tires mounted and balanced, with the wheel locks for $ 190 bucks less than the price I was quoted by this place and what Discount has advertised on it's website ( so always call and don't order from the website shopping cart )

I think the guy just wanted to push the wheels he had in stock to make more money ..... Can't trust anbody these days......

I also told him to keep the Intrax because some else also told me about voiding my AGX warranty with the Intrax's....

Thanks for looking out with that info Nismo.......

Man, I wish I knew how to install the springs myself ...

Do yourself a favor and scrape a few more $$$ together and get the GCs. They are probably about double the cost if the Incraps. ;)

It certainly pays to shop around these days looking for the best deal that you can find.

What will ground controls do for me on a P10 ? I don't really race around going for max. style and comfort ..... are they comfortable for street daily driving ?

The ground control coil-over is a height adjustable system and you can order custom spring rates. Great for "high performance" driving. You can achieve a decent ride with very good performance with these with the right spring rates but for MAXIMUM style and comfort i'd say stick with some quality lowering springs, like eibach for instance. And also don't forget to get some quality shocks to go along with it.

If they wont get you what you ordered, get your money back AND tell EVERYONE you know that this place screwed you. If someone had done that to me, I would have thrown more than a fit. I would have said "Fuck you. If you wont sell me what I ordered, then my friends and I will go someplace else that cares about its customers." I would then have called my credit card company ( i never pay in cash or check for parts) and put the charge in dispute. After that, I would find a much more reputable place to buy stuff from, based on friends recomendations.
Intrax springs do suck also. A 1.75" drop on many cars will cause suspension parts to wear out faster because it alters the suspension geometry enough to make ball joints and bushings out of their designed alignment. The Eibachs are designed to work with SPECIFIC cars, so you are ensured long suspension compenent life, as well as correct handling. Lowering a car too much can actually increase its tendency to roll in a corner, by changing the lower control arm's (or A-arm's) angle too drastically.

I'll bet my AGX/GC ride better than Prokits, H&R, Intrax etc. combined with any damper.

I plan on playing around with spring rates a bit too in search of an even better ride.

i'd say the AGX/Prokits would be better... the GC springs are made by Eibach, but they're not progressive like Eibach's Prokits.

i've had just about every combo of stock/kyb/koni/intrax/gc on my p11. i actually just parted with my Koni and Ground Control setup yesterday afternoon. I have Tein setup going in now, as i wanted a softer ride and more suspension travel at lower heights.

i loved my koni/gc setup (except for those damn squeeky gc springs) but i know that w/ a prokit spring it would've been better... just not height adjustable. :p

Sounds like you haven't had Prokits. I've never used them on my G20, but I have them on my SE-R. The ride in my G20 with AGX/GC is better than the ride in my SE-R. The problem with Prokits (generally) is they are too soft for the drop and bottom too much. I think with slightly lower spring rates the G20 would be most excellent with the GCs. As for progressive springs.... I think that's just over rated.

BTW, my GCs don't make any noise what so ever.

about the Prokits bottoming out... i've really never heard this as an issue.

and as for GC's squeeking.. thats just common knowledge. yours may not, but more than half of GC owners will tell you this or admit to it. i personally didnt mind it that much, it wasnt that often or too loud. but every once in awhile one of my buddies would be in the car w/ me and say... what was that squeek???
