Installing 242 Transfer Case '88 Cherk 6cylSJPruett 12-21-2004, 09:11 AM I am fairly new (I’ve done U joints, inner tie rods and things like that) at doing my own mechanical thing but my brother is very adept. He has never worked on a Transfer case before but from what we are told it will be fairly easy. It only took the guy I got the part from about 20 min to take off. Are there any detailed instructions out there that anyone knows about to do this? I found a good web site to swap a 249 for 242 but I want to make sure I get this done right the first timeJ. Thanks for any response. 89ltd 12-21-2004, 09:16 AM are you installing a different type or changing the existing one for a new one?
