make sure the vacuum hose going from the Cruise Control Servo to the Intake Manifold is not leaking.

also, have you checked the fuses.

I have the same problem with my CruiseControl (or lack of it). Everybody makes mention of checking the fuse, yet neither the Chilton or Haynes manuals do. There is no discription of that fuse on the fuse panel cover (good one). So with two fuse boxes, which witch is which? I havent figured which panel is for what really. The panel under the hood is called the Power Distribution Center (PDC). Many of the fuses are box shaped and are black plastic, so no looking to see if its bad. I have a 94 Grand, so the interior panel is on the passengerside of the dash. I found the Haynes manual had more info on the hoses and connections for the CC under the hood, so I will review that as well. Any ideas which fuse, what size etc. it would be?

I have the same problem. My CC hasn't worked since I have owned my 94 JGC laredo. BTW, the "black fuses" are actually relays(electronic switches). I have heard of the brake switch being the problem, but have never managed to find it. I have heard that the contacts in this switch get dirty or sticky, so it always thinks the brake is engaged, thus killing the cc.

let me know if you figure this one out.

the CRUISE CONTROL fuse is in the FUSE BLOCK on the side of the dash (passengerside) it is the #20 10 AMP fuse.

My old "zj" cc use to go out every few months.
I had to keep adjusting the brake light switch on the brake pedal.
For some reason it use to move around.

OK, so my fuse works, but my vaccuum line is busted. I will get a new one. any suggestions? Also, I read in some thread that one guys JGC had a light that came on to indicate cruise control was engaged. I haven't ever seen this light come on. I don't know if it's a year specific thing or not, but if I'm supposed to see a light, I don't. Will it not come on if the vaccum line is bad?

I have a 94 ZJ and if there is a CRUISE light on mine, IT DON"T WORK, I have never seen a CRUISE light or any light indicating sruise is on in my Grand Cherokee and I use the cruise alot. I think it might be on some later model ZJ/WJ's.

OK, great, then that's one less thing to worry about. I guess it's just the vacuum hose then. Do you know if it's the same vacuum hose as in a cherokee? the U-Wrench it around here has a bunch of Cherokees, but no grands. It'll be my first stop before a dealership. I am also assumming that autozone isn't going to have this part.

Hi,

I have a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo with 1150 miles on it. I recently noticed that the crusie control does not operate correctly. I'll be crusing at 70 MPH and all is good. However, when I stop or slow down too pay a toll I accellerate to 30MPH and hit resume on the Crusie Control. As the jeep accellerates I noticed that the RPM's is around 5500-6000 RPM and the jeep cannot get back to 70 MPH unless I hit cancel and manually accellerate to 70 MPH then hit resume. Has anyone had this problem and if so what was done to fix it. I have been to 2 dealers and they insist there is no problem.

Any info would be greatly appreciated. Please email me at jcradio@yahoo.com.

Thanks
Joe
