good morning, trying to troubleshoot my wifes 94 grand cherokee I6 which cranks over but won't start. I think I have two problems with the fuel system. I do get spark to the plugs. Fuel pump does not powerup with ignition turned on or if I run a direct jumper from the bat (bad pump, plan to replace). The issue that confuses me is that when I check for voltage being delivered to the fuel pump at the wire connector at the fuel tank I don't measure any. I've checked the fuel pump relay and the auto shut down relay. They both check out and there is power being delivered to both relays. There is also a fuse for the fuel system that also seems to check out. When I try to extract engine fault codes I get 11 and 12. which indicates a possible problem between distributor and pcm (maybe the cam shaft position sensor) would this have anything to do with voltage not being delivered to the fuel pump. Recent repairs to this vehicle include the crank position sensor (oem from jeep) approx three weeks ago. This solved an intermitent powerloss problem a high speed. No fun swapping that out,

when you turn the key on, there will only be power to the fuel pump for just a couple of seconds until the pressure builds up then the power will stop, and power to the pump will not come back until it is needed, when it starts. If you were to have somebody turn the engine over while you probe for power at the pump , i think you would have it.

just to answer your question about the Camshaft Position Sensor, I don't think it will cause loss of power to the Fuel pump, but it does control the Fuel injectors along with the Crank sensor
