Been driving it no problems, I come home today shut it off as usuall. Then go back out an hour later and the engine wont start. The battery is fine, the diagnostics are good, but I get NOTHING from the engine at all. Im thinking a spark plag wire or blown fuse, havent checked yet cuase its dark and cold out right now. What cuold this be?

I doubt it is either of those actually.

Remember, for an engine to run it needs fuel, compression, and spark. If this were a spark plug wire the engine would start but would be missing. A blown fuse is possible, but not very likely considering a blown fuse doesn't usually end up deeming the motor useless. Do you get a crank when you turn the key? If you just hear a click, it's possible your starter solenoid is bad. They usually don't just die though..

More details please,
Matt

I have the same problem. It will be fine for awhile (i.e. many starts) and then it won't start at all. It doesn't turn over or anything. I had the starter replaced, but it is doing it again. For some reason if I shake the back of the truck and then try it, it starts...but not always on the first try. (I originally thought I had a flat spot on the starter which is why I began shaking the car in the first place. Even after replacing the starter, this seems to be the only thing that works.) The techs at my dealer are mystified. Any help???

RK - NSS or Ignition Switch, try placing tranny in Nuetral and see if the engine cranks, if so, NSS is bad or shift linkage out of adjustment. if still won't start Ignition Switch is bad.

I have a problem like yours now as well only mine was very unexpected. I was driving down the road going about 35 and I just started slowing down and the check engine light came on. I coasted to a red light and tried to turn the jeep back on, and it won't start. It'll crank but won't start. I had to have it towed to my mechanic and they're looking at it now. He called and said it blew a master fuse so he put a new one in and it just keeps blowing them as soon as he gets them in. 2 weeks ago I had a rebuilt tranny put in because I had only third gear. They had to put a new computer in the engine because that was what burnt out all my gears I guess. I dunno, if I were you I'd try looking at the fuses I guess. Look for all the little things first!

HI, HAVE THEM CHECK THE WIRES THAT GO TO THE OXYGEN SENSOR. THE WIRESIF NOT TIED UP SWING AROUND GET CAUGHT DRIVESHAFT AND BREAK, OR THEY GET BURNT FROM EXHAUST AND SHORT OUT THE FUSE, THUS BLOWING FUSE. CHECK WIRES CAREFULLY. DALE jeepman600@sbcglobal.net :screwy: :grinno: :nono:

I got it back today. They had to repair wiring, replace the fuse and the fuel pump relay? All in all it cost me $200 which sucks but I guess that's better than what it couldda been!

I had this happen recently, and I took it to the dealer, which was stupid to begin with, but anyways, they told me I had some belt that was freezing and needed replacement. I went ahead and did it but ended up dropping around $300 to do so.
